I have a drawer and a tote full of PK-88s Kamplus,pk232 and others and use none of them. as a RL-20 or DRA-30 or even a modded USB sound fob and a $12 OrangePi running DireWolf gives so much more versatility and literally 7 times the performance (DireWolf runs 7 concurrent decoders) oh5nxo.

So we missed 19 packets out of a total of 211 packtes from Direwolf. This compared to the tnc3s that missed 73 out of 219 packets from Direwolf. Below again the TNC3s comparison with Direwolf. It is nice to see that this AEA PK-88 performs so well after all these years and different owners.

Ever since I got back into packet radio, I've been looking for a suitable software application that would work with my PK-88 and Windows 7. After trying to figure out a way to get WinPack to work in Windows 7 (which it does not) and then settling on Tera Term, I found Outpost Packet Message Manager.. What I like the most about Outpost is that it works a lot like email.

PK-88 is a form of the G-Section entity G-88. PK-88 used to be the fastest form of it before G-88's orange form was introduced, with OR-88 being the fastest, and YE-88 being the slowest. (1.1 RPS YE) PK-88, similar to how the Normal Form works, would travel at extremely high speeds instead and rebound about 2 times before despawning. PK means pink. The eye seems to be a lot bigger than G-88.

PK-88 OPERATING MANUAL COMMAND SUMMARY When TXFLOW and XFLOW are ON, the PK-88 uses the Start and Stop characters (set by XON and XOFF) to control the input from the terminal. Unless TRFLOW is also ON, only hardware flow control is available to the computer or terminal to control output from the PK-88.

Many older TNC's can be used, including the AEA PK-88, TAPR-2, TAPR-2 clones made by various manufacturers, etc. These units can be put to use as home stations or as mobile APRS stations. For a home station the position is set in the beacon text and is broadcast at 10 minute intervals. For mobile APRS these TNC's must have a computer attached.

AEA TNC PK88 Hamshack
Any firmware for AEA PK-88 packet controller? RESOLVED. Troubleshooting a PK-88 packet controller with no response at the terminal. While I scope out the 1488/1489 line drivers, I was thinking about the EPROM, and wondering if I accidentally left the cover open while working on it. The sticker is there to cover the window, but you never know.

If you're looking for a low cost way to get into packet radio you probably won't go wrong with this little unit. Time Owned: 6 to 12 months. I own two of this great TNC's. One is working like a APRS Fill In Digipeater. I made it with a little modification to the PK-88 and add a HC-05 Bluetooth module.
